NAME: Sulfnbk.exe virus hoax
ALIAS: Long File Name Backup utility virus hoax
In April-May 2001 there appeared a hoax message concerning a new virus that
was reportedly discovered in Windows' Long File Name Backup utility
SULFNBK.EXE. We checked several versions of this utility from Windows
installations and found no infection in it. Here's the original hoax
message:
---Begin Hoax Text -------------------------------------------
" Virus SULFNBK.EXE
Instructions to find and delete it.
1. Start and got to Find Files. Type the name: SULFNBK.EXE
2. If it is there, open Windows Explorer, look for the file
where you found it, and then delete. Don't left click and don't
open it even if there is a fire, o.k.?
3. Just delete it.
4. Mine was in Windows/Command.
5. The person wh passed this warning to me found it in
Windows/Config.
And Norton did not discover it..."

Please ignore this hoax and don't pass it on.
It should be noted that Magistr virus-worm can choose SULFNBK.EXE file as
its victim, infect it and send it out. So if you find this file attached to
an e-mail message please delete it, never run the attachment.

Iemand op die nuusgroep het so 'n week of wat gelede iets gesê oor 'n
magiese woord.
Dit het my dadelik laat dink aan 'n woord wat veral hier bo in ons kontrei
absoluut "magic" is en dit is "Kaapse....."
As iemand 'n stalletjie of winkeltjie het waar hy enige iets verkoop en
hy/sy kan sê "kaapse........" dan is hy seker van goeie verkope. Ek sien
altyd die "kaapse druiwe", "kaapse snoek", "kaapse wyn ", "kaapse droë
vrugte" en hulle sal altyd sweer dat dit die lekkerste of beste is.

Maar grappies op 'n stokkie, daar kom wel goeie swart afgestudeerdes uit Zim
se universiteite, ook in die handelwetenskappe.
En het Kuba nie (een van) die hoogste geletterdheidsvlakke in die wêreld
nie? Heelwat hoër as die VSA.
Het iemand dalk ondervinding van kontrak/seisonale werk op plase of in die
konstruksie bedryf in die VSA ? (of weet dalk van iemand wat bereid is om
inligting te verskaf)
'n paar dinge wat ek graag wil weet :
Is dit 'n "scam" ?
Indien nie, is dit die moeite werd ?
Waar in die VSA word gewerk ?
Watse tipe werk word gedoen ?
Watse tipe huisvesting is beskikbaar ?
Is dit raadsaam om 'n gesin saam te neem ?
Is dit 'n langtermyn werksopsie ?
Enige ander inligting van waarde/waarskuwing ?
Was Vrydagaand by 'n optrede van 'n massa jeugkoor. My dogter het
deelgeneem. Een van die items was net deur die Natalse Jeugkoor gesing. Om
die dood kan ek nie op die naam kom nie, maar dit is iets soos "Nagklanke
uit Afrika". Iets ongelooflik om na te luister. Iemand wat al 'n donker
nag in die Afrika wildernis deurgebring het sal verstom wees oor die
klanknabootsing.

Wie se skuld dink julle is gaan die hoër petrolprys wees? Het olie pryse
gestyg? Swak rand waarde? of is dit die regering se skuld? of Is dit dalk
die skuld van apartheid of rasisme?
Ek weet wat dink julle van die feit dat ons binnekort meer as R4 'n liter
gaan betaal? Dit beteken ek sal nou in 'n maand ongeveer R70 meer moet
budget vir petrol en kos se prys sal ook styg. Waar van dink hulle moet 'n
mens leef. Ek sukkel elke maand om kop bo water te hou. Ek kan nie eens meer
'n skaflike sosiale lewe bekostig nie. Dis seker maar ook 'n goeie ding,
want nou word ek gedwing deur die regime om voor die boeke te bly en te leer
in die aand. Ek wonner nou net wanneer die Taxi drywers 'n slag gaan begin
toi-toi oor die petrol of word hulle gesubsidieer van iewers af.
