in Zimbabwe is wat SA so teister.
Beslis minder kar hijackings.
paar triljoen zim dollars steel.
waarde is weg!

Hallo Dave ... Ek was so week op vakansie, en for the life of me wil my MTN
Google doen. Maar ek is nou weer terug by die werk en is besig om in te
haal.
Hoe noemen Afrikaners zelf hun taal? Afrikaans?

**************************************
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi)
Gandhi had arrived in Durban, South Africa, in 1893 to serve as legal
counsel to the merchant Dada Abdulla. In June, he was asked by Dada
Abdulla to undertake a trip to Pretoria in the Transvaal, a journey
which first took Gandhi to Pietermaritzburg. There, Gandhi was seated
in the first-class compartment, since he had purchased a first-class
ticket. A European who entered the compartment hastened to summon
railway officials, who ordered Gandhi to remove himself to the van
compartment, since 'coolies' and non-whites were apparently not
permitted in first-class compartments. Gandhi protested and produced
his ticket, but was warned that he would be forcibly removed if he did
not make a gracious exit. As Gandhi refused to comply with the order,
he was summarily pushed out of the train, and his luggage was tossed
out on to the platform. The train steamed away, and Gandhi withdrew to
the waiting room. "It was winter," Gandhi was to write in his
autobiography, and "the cold was extremely bitter. My over-coat was in
my luggage, but I did not dare to ask for it lest I should be insulted
again, so I sat and shivered" (Part II, Ch. 8). He says he began to
think of his "duty": ought he to stay back and fight for his "rights",
or should he return to India? His own "hardship was superficial",
"only a symptom of the deep disease of colour prejudice."
In such circumstances did Gandhi first become aware of racism and of
the grave inequities to which people are subjected on the grounds of
color; and consequently Gandhi was to embark on a journey that would
take him far beyond Pretoria.
Seretse Khama was born in 1921 in Serowe, in what was then the
Bechuanaland Protectorate.
n June of 1947, Khama met Ruth Williams, an English clerk at Lloyd's
of London, and after a year of courtship, married her.
However, the international ramifications of his marriage would not be
so easily resolved. Having banned interracial marriage under the
apartheid system, South Africa could not afford to have an interracial
couple ruling just across their northern border. As Bechuanaland was
then a British protectorate (not a colony), the South African
government immediately exerted pressure to have Khama removed from his
chieftainship. Britain's Labour government, then heavily in debt from
World War II, could not afford to lose cheap South African gold and
uranium supplies. There was also a fear that South Africa might take
more direct action against Bechuanaland, through economic sanctions or
a military incursion. The British government therefore launched a
parliamentary enquiry into Khama's fitness for the chieftainship.
Though the investigation reported that he was in fact eminently fit
for the rule of Bechuanaland, "but for his unfortunate marriage",
the government ordered the report suppressed (it would remain so for
thirty years), and exiled Khama and his wife from Bechuanaland in
1951. In 1952, a new Conservative government declared the exile
permanent.
Dis pinksternag en voor die kaggelvuur
terwyl ek verse skryf, weet ek die mooi
geskryf is eintlik boos en hierdie uur
moet ek my bundel in die vlamme gooi
as ek God suiwerder wil dien ...
Ek lees in my vriendin sy e-pos daar is 'n permanente kragkrisis in
Suid-Afrika?
Ek het daaroor 'n beriggie gelees in my koerant hier in België, maar
dis reeds enige weke gelede..
Is daardie kragkrisis nog steeds besig?
Hoekom daar is kragonderbrekings in Suid-Afrika? En hoekom dit duur so
lank?
Is hier iemand wat my daaroor 'n tegniese uitleg kan gee?
