Onlangs was hier ook in die koerante 'n stuk oor navorsing
wat beweer dat waar daar statisties 'n hoë aantal JONG mans
in die bevolking is, die aanwesigheid van oorlog en siviele
onrus ook hoër is.

'n Mens kan daarvan natuurlik baie gevolgtrekkings maak. Die mees
geloofwaardige sal waarskynlik wees dat politici hulle makliker in 'n oorlog
laat betrek as daar genoeg weerbare jong manne is. Of dalk dat as daar baie
mense is (dan is daar ook meer jong mans) dan maak hulle makliker oorlog.
En loop versigtig vir statistiek. Daar is yskoue statistiese bewyse dat daar
per stad in Amerika 'n verband is tussen :
die aantal kerke en die aantal tronke
die aantal onderwysers en die voorkoms van drankmisbruik
Die verklarende gemeenskaplike faktor is (hopelik) dat al vier daardie
elemente verhoog soos die aantal mense in 'n stad verhoog.
So is daar ook al 'n korrelasie gekry tussen die aantal telefoonpale en die
verkope van sykouse.
Hoeveel f&^%$ vliegtuigies moet nog crash voor mense gaan besef dat daar nie
'n piramide skema is wat werk nie. Die eerstes word wel ryk, maar ek wonder
soms of hulle dink waar daai geld vandaan kom...

Voorburg - Vrouwen kunnen straks zwanger worden zonder dat hun eicel is
bevrucht met sperma. Daarop bestaat uitzicht nu Australische onderzoekers
muizen hebben bevrucht met cellen die uit lichaamsdelen van de diertjes zijn
gehaald. Hierdoor lijkt de man straks niet meer nodig te zijn voor de
voortplanting.
Ek het die vertoning in Kampsbaai gesien - en dit vreeslk geniet toentertyd.
Laat weet wanneer dit nou weer Kaap toe kom - ek sal dit definitief weer wil
sien.

Dit lyk of die mense hier te bang is om enigiets voor of teen dit te sê -
miskien in die *vrees* dat hulle verbaal aangeval gaan word.
Op die ander groep is daar nogal 'n lewendige en baie gemoedelike bespreking
tussen die rokers en nie-rokers.
Ek het byvoorbeeld nou geleer dat in Denemarke mag rokers slegs in private
wonings rook.
In Duitsland is die openbare rookwette strenger as hier by ons, en in sekere
state in Amerika mag rokers nie binne 25 meter van die ingang tot 'n gebou
rook nie.
By sekere werkgewers in Kanada maak hulle die werkdag 7.5 ure lank, sodat
die nie-rokers nie eis dat hulle meer betaal word omdat hulle meer
produktief is omdat hulle nie kort-kort hoef uit te glip vir 'n dampie nie.
Interessant hoe verskillend mense in nuusgroepe optree.
