Wij, bij EF talenscholen, willen op termijn graag info in verband met
Afrikaans verstrekken aan onze studenten en de beste hulp daarbij is
natuurlijk een native speaker.
Wonner of daar nog 'n land is waarvan die politiek so interessant is.
Al die polisiechiefs word gearresteer - sommige ministers word
gearesteer vir spoed en ander is veroordeelde diewe.
Slaai en knoffel word voorgeskryf vir vigs en die speaker
word toegesluit oor afslag op sy kar.
Volgende Staatspresident word gecharge vir bedrog en hy dreig om te
skinder van die huidige. Groot persentasie van die kabinet deel neem
aan Travel Gate en die burgemeester van Kaapstad is betrokke in 'n
spioendrama. Die enigste storie op TV wat ek vir geen geld ter wêreld
mis nie is die 7 uur nuus.
Gister op pad huis toe is die verkeersligte in Braanfontein weer uit
en die metropolisie natuurlik weer nerens te bespeur nie.
Die reen het niks beter gemaak nie. Vir die wat Jhb ken, ek is eers 6
nm uit Melville weg omdat ek vir iemand moes wag en 'n lift gee.
Ons het na 7 in Kensington aangekom. In die proses ook vanaf een
gridlock afgdraai - reg in 'n ander een in.
Kan ek weer meld die verkeersligte was af en die metropolisie nerens
nie?
Iemand bel vanoggend 702 en se die metropolisie staan langs - en dink
dit was Beyers Naude rylaan? - en kyk na die volgepakte pad wat
stilstaan omdat die verkeersligte nie werk nie.
Hulle staan daar want hulle het 'n spoedlokval kom stel, maar kan nou
nie want verkeer is gegridlock.
So staan hulle toe maar daar en kyk na die karre wat voor die
verkeersligte gridlock. Iemand op die radio bel toe vir die verkeers
dept en vra hoekom reel hulle nie bleddie verkeer nie - en kry die
antwoord "dis nie ons skuld dat die krag af is nie".
Toe ek vanoggend opstaan, was daar natuurlik geen krag nie. Bel toe
maar weer vir City Power om uit te vind hoe lank gaan dit duur en kry
die antwoord: "About 7 years, sir".
Ek lieg nie. Sy het waarskynlik verwys na die geskatte tydperk wat
Eskom se ons nog die soort probleme gaan he. Vra toe oor MY BLEDDIE
VOORSTAD OK!!!!! en hoor, sy weet nie. "Two to 4 hours".
Wanneer het BEGIN?????
"About six."
En o ja, die call centre is eers 20 minute nadat die krag afgeskakel
is, gehoor dit is afgeskakel.
Anyway, skakel toe die kragopwekker aan wat ek gister gekoop het en
plug 'n lig en 'n ketel in. Kon toe die koerant in elektriese lig in
plaas van kerslig lees en kon tee drink.
2010, huh?

Die Suid-Afrikaanse ekonomie gaan waarskynlik miljarde rande inboet en
nooit 6%-groei haal nie as die kragkrisis voortduur.
"Dit is 'n strukturele probleem. Jy gaan dit nie oornag regstel nie,"
sê dr. Roelof Botha, ekonomiese raadgewer van PricewaterhouseCoopers,
oor die impak van voortslepende kragonderbrekings in verskeie dele van
die land.
Hy vrees ook dat invoervervanging sal begin plaasvind waar sekere
sektore weens kragtekorte 'n daling in produksie beleef. Suid-Afrika
sal noodgedwonge van dié produkte moet invoer, wat nóg meer druk op
die lopende rekening gaan plaas.
Hoewel dit eers later moontlik sal wees om die finansiële impak van
die kragonderbrekings te bepaal, sê mnr. Mike Schüssler, ekonoom van
T-sec, dit kan honderde miljoene rande beloop. Hy sê van die grootste
fabriek tot die kleinste onderneming word geraak en dit is ongelukkig
moeiliker vir die kleiner ondernemings om te oorleef.
Ander skat die impak op miljarde.
Groter groepe het reeds voorsiening gemaak vir kragopwekkers by hul
ondernemings.
Woolworths het gister gesê klante kan by dié die
kos-en-klerekleinhandelgroep inkopies doen ten spyte van
kragonderbrekings. Meer as 99% van die groep se takke wat deur die
maatskappy besit word (meer as 200, met die ander in
franchise-bestuur), het kragopwekkers.
Klein- en mikro-ondernemings het nie noodwendig die kapitaal vir
kragopwekkers nie.
Schüssler meen baie van hulle gaan nie oorleef nie. "Hul winsmarges is
nie groot genoeg om sulke skokke te deurstaan nie," sê Schüssler.
Klein en middelslag-ondernemings (KMO's) dra beduidend tot
werkverskaffing in die land by. Schüssler vrees die probleme wat hulle
nou in die gesig staar, kan 'n tydperk inlui waar daar nie net minder
werkskepping gaan wees nie, maar selfs werkverliese.
'n Bestuurder by 'n vleisverwerkingsfabriek, wat anoniem wil bly, het
aan Sake24 gesê die kragonderbrekings kos hulle baie geld.
"Aflewerings kan nie voltooi word nie omdat produkte weens die
onderbrekings nie reg is vir verspreiding nie."
Dié fabriek moes produkte van etlike tonne weggooi omdat die krag af
was en die verkoeling nie gewerk het nie, sê die bestuurder.
In die vermaaklikheidsbedryf gaan ook daagliks geld verlore.
Pieter Toerien se produksie van The Lion King by Montecasino in
Johannesburg het naastenby R100 000 skade gely toe 'n kragonderbreking
verlede week en Donderdag 'n vertoning in die wiele gery het.
Ondernemings is nie nét bekommerd oor die finansiële verliese nie.
Mnr. Brett Dungan, uitvoerende hoof van die federasie van
gasvryheidsverenigings van Suider-Afrika (Fedhasa), sê die meeste
hotelle het reeds kragopwekkers op bystand en hul kombuise gebruik
gas, eerder as elektrisiteit.
Só kan sake redelik normaal voortgaan.
Die bedryf is egter bekommerd oor gaste se veiligheid tydens
kragonderbrekings, want donkerte lok misdaad, sê Dungan.
Skielike kragonderbrekings kan ook vir werkers gevaar inhou, sê mnr.
Colin de Kock, uitvoerende direkteur van die Gautengse
meesterbouersvereniging.
Hy is bekommerd oor die gevaar vir werkers wanneer hulle tydens
kragonderbrekings in 'n kelder of branduitgang werk of besig is met
gevaarlike stowwe.
Dit is nie duidelik hoe die werkÂgewer voorsiening kan maak vir sulke
situasies ingevolge die Wet op Beroepsveiligheid en -gesondheid nie.

Swak instandhouding rede vir kragtekorte in SA

Vaardigheidstekorte, instandhouding wat agter geraak het en veral swak
skakeling met munisipaliteite is die hoofoorsake vir die ergste
elektrisiteitsprobleme nog wat die land vandeesweek teister.
'n Hoë amptenaar van Eskom wat nie geïdentifiseer wil word nie, het
gister gesê die kragonderbrekings sedert Dinsdag word meestal
veroorsaak deur stoomlekkasies wat in kragsentrales ontstaan.
"Dit gebeur omdat instandhouding nie behoorlik gedoen is nie en omdat
al die beskikbare kragsentrales, insluitende die gasaangedrewe
turbines by Atlantis in Kaapstad, volstoom werk om soveel krag
moontlik te lewer," sê hy.
Die gasturbines is gemaak om twee tot drie uur per dag te werk, maar
word die afgelope twee weke voluit tot 20 uur per dag ingespan om in
die vraag na elektrisiteit te voorsien.
Dis omdat verskeie turbines in steenkool- en kernkragsentrales elders
dié tyd van die jaar buite werking is vir instandhouding.
ÂDie belangrikste is Koeberg wat met kernbrandstof gelaai moet word.
Dis 'n enorme operasie wat twee weke gelede begin het en tot April
voortduur.
" 'n Span wetenskaplikes en ingenieurs word daarvoor van Frankryk
gebring," sê die amptenaar.
Koeberg lewer 1 800 megawatt aan die netwerk uit 'n beskikbare 33 036
megawatt. Koeberg se afwesigheid verminder die reserwemarge tot minder
as 2% van die piekvraag van 36 513 megawatt verlede winter.
"As enigiets verkeerd loop, is daar kragonderbrekings."
Die vaardigheidsprobleme behels 'n tekort aan werklike ervaring, "soos
'n ingenieur wat in 'n turbinekamer rondloop, vassteek en aan die
turbine kan hoor iets is verkeerd. Hy weet dadelik wat moet aandag kry
en wat die gevolge is as dit nie reggestel word nie," sê die
amptenaar. Eskom het die afgelope twee jaar baie moeite gedoen om
afgetrede werknemers terug te lok as tydelike mentors.
"Daar werk byvoorbeeld 'n 72-jarige afgetrede kragstasiebestuurder by
'n groot kragsentrale in Mpumalanga wat as mentor optree vir vier jong
ingenieurs," sê hy.
Die tekort aan sulke ervaring raak deurslaggewend in die somer as
groot turbines tot stilstand gebring word vir onderhoudswerk.
Skakeling met munisipaliteite oor wanneer om kragtoevoer af te skakel,
is ook 'n probleem.
Dit word volgens die amptenaar hoegenaamd nie volgens die program
gedoen wat Eskom aan die munisipaliteite stuur nie, deels omdat
toerusting verouderd is.
"By sommige munisipaliteite word letterlik met 'n bakkie van substasie
tot substasie gery om dit af te skakel."
Eskom het gister ontken dat hy elektrisiteit aan buurstate uitvoer.
Maar mnr. Bennie Blignaut, elektrisiteitshoof van die vakbond
Solidariteit wat lede in strategiese poste in Eskom het, het gesê sy
inligting is dat Eskom deurlopend sowat 3 000 megawatt lewer aan
onderskeidelik Namibië, Botswana, Zimbabwe en Mosambiek.

current events in South Africa .

All the whites have done is get on with their lives and as best they can,

antagonists in a spirit of mutual progress and benefit for the entire
country.
In reciprocation, blacks have maintained a backlash against whites, the

marginalizing, disenfranchising, dispossessing and disarming whites in every
diabolical way conceivable, while every step of the way systematically and
brutally slaughtering white people on a scale and with a savagery that the

It has been an orgy of racially agitated bloodletting, the absolute
barbarity of which is notched up with each subsequent incident exposing the
black psyche as the most diabolically evil, cruel and inhuman and against
which very few atrocities in history can compare. Each new day heralds

possible culmination - the final slaughter en masse of every last white man,

proceed to slaughter all of the nearly 5 million white people in SA in 1994,
as reprisal for Apartheid. 5 million people is just short of the 6 million
Jews that were exterminated by the Nazis in the Holocaust.
In other words, every last white in South Africa , to the roaring concession
and self-righteous admonishment of the rest of the world needs to be
grateful, nay, to grovel with gratitude at the feet of South African blacks
for not visiting upon us a second holocaust in human history.
The Nazi holocaust is recognized universally as the single most heinous
atrocity of human history, it is universally recognized as the absolute
depths of depravity to which humanity sank in it's entire history, to
systematically exterminate like vermin, which indeed the Nazis called them,
6 million people because they belonged to a particular ethnic group. This in
turn has since been held up as the single most definitive reason that racial
intolerance should be deemed so abhorrent and that anybody who subscribes to
this very broad, all-encompassing but generally vague "Racism" should be
equally abhorred and likened to the Nazis.
Whatever apartheid was, it can never, not by any stretch of the imagination
be likened in any way to the policies of the Nazis which manifested in the
atrocities they committed for which there exists masses of evidence in the
form of documents, records, photographs and films, not to mention the actual
structures within which they effected the mass extermination of human
beings, such as gas chambers, ovens and concentration camps.
How can apartheid in any way be compared to what the Nazis did to the Jews?
Yet in recent decades, Apartheid has been routinely compared to Nazism and
South African whites portrayed to the world as akin to Nazis against which
time and again, retaliation has been called for by the international left
wing liberal community in support of South African blacks. That not a shred
of evidence exists to qualify any comparison on any level between Nazism and
Nazi atrocities to Apartheid has been of no consequence in the hysterical
lobbying for reprisals and in recent times, the constant shoving down our
throats that whites can be thankful they were not subjected to a second
holocaust.
However, the notion has held sway on the strength of black African lies and
deceit and the sensationalism and spin-doctoring by international left wing
liberal sycophants to be unequivocally accepted as evidence of a mythical
apparition of Apartheid being akin to Nazism. For this modern day myth,
whites must be grateful for not being exterminated, regardless of the fact
that by way of further delusion this is in fact exactly what is happening to
whites in South Africa .
Incredibly enough, the only parallels that can be drawn between modern South
African history and racial intolerance aka Apartheid and the Nazis and the
Holocaust are the black racist "Reverse Apartheid" policies of the communist
terrorist ANC regime and the protracted programme of the slaughter of
innocent, unarmed, white civilians whose only affront to the ANC is being
white and present in SA. The extent to which racial segregation of whites
has been overtly legislated and implemented by the black racist government
in every facet of life more closely approximates Nazi persecution of Jews
than Apartheid can ever be accused of.
The 35 000 innocent, unarmed white civilians including 2-3000 farmers that
have been brutally slaughtered under ANC communist terrorist rule more
closely approximates the Nazi pogroms leading up to the holocaust than
anything Apartheid stands accused of. Against the backdrop of 14 years of
ANC terrorist brutality against the white population, the holocaust that
everyone is reminding us we must be so thankful we were spared from is a
stark reality that is staring us in the face with the absolute certainty of
every brutal murder of whites that takes place every day.
Anybody who believes for one second that white South Africans are not being
set up for a massacre needs to have their face shoved forcefully into the
newspaper reports on the Skielik squatter camp shooting. In recent weeks
there have been a number of violent black on white race hate crimes, in
which not once was the race of the perpetrator mentioned. Yet on this
extremely rare occasion of a white teenager, traumatized and brutalized by
past black brutality on himself, his family and friends, mentally succumbing
and perpetrating a clearly irrational and isolated crime, the ANC terrorists
and their propaganda machine have gone into a feeding frenzy to bay for more
bloodshed of more whites.
Such are the double standards of the ANC terrorists that never, never, in
any instance of brutal black on white crime under their dispensation, has
the race of the perpetrators ever been reported, but when one incident of
white on black crime occurs they not only violate a variety of legal
protocols and the rights of the white teenager to subject him to media
trial, they also at local government level officially and publicly call for
and incite further black race hatred knowing full well how this can
escalate.
Let whites not be under any illusion that the so-called terrorist war
against them, portrayed as an "Armed struggle" ended in 1994. It has in fact
continued, and in every act of black on white violence and every farm murder
since then, been intensified. Let there be no illusion that the ANC
terrorists will not use any little excuse they can to launch a mass attack
against whites in the final onslaught and their manipulation of this
incident to that end should be a loudly ringing warning bell to whites in
South Africa that the black terrorists are getting impatient and clutching
at any straw to justify the massacre.
The time has come for whites to prepare themselves for this. The time has
come to stop pussy footing around political correctness, racial tolerance
and other suchlike crap - this is an outright black racist terrorist war on
white people being waged with weapons of war and if there is still time left
for white people, they need to use this time to co-ordinate and commence
their own "Liberation Struggle" from the black minority terrorist regime to
campaign for their own enclave in Southern Africa.
Whites are being subjected to a terrorist war, the clear objective of which
is their ultimate and total annihilation purely because they are white,
nothing else. As such, the argument for a White Independent Country in
Southern Africa for generations of whites born there on the grounds that
they are being persecuted and ethnically cleansed because they are white is
more than a compelling one and it's time has come, if only to avoid another
holocaust.

Gister op pad huis toe is die krag weer in Braamfontein af. Al die
verkeersligte is weer dus buite werking. Nodeloos om te se, geen
metropolisie weer sigbaar nie en karre en taxi's moet hulself maar met
woede en moeite deur mekaar vleg.
By die huis gekom, is die krag WEER af tot so 8 uur. Moes dus weer
uitry en soek na 'n winkelsentrum met krag sodat take aways gekoop kan
word.
Hoe 20 minute aan op die foom om te praat met City Power se "hulplyn"
(Ha, ha... snaakse naam daai!!). Hulle se ja die krag is af. Dis
Eskom, dis nie hulle nie (Eskom se natuurlik dis City Power en nie
hulle nie - die werklikheid is dat Eskom aan City Power laat weet
hulle moet nou soveel kilowat minder gebruik en City Power besluit dat
watter woonbuurte om af te skakel en vir hoe lank en wanneer).
Die hulplys se ook dit sal so 2 tot 4 ure duur voor die krag weer
aankom.
Hulle verstaan ook nie hoekom ek kwaad is dat hulle 'n mens nie laat
weet nie of dat hulle nie weet vir hoe lank hulle die krag afskakel
nie.
Soos ek sit ek tik, is die krag by doe werk af. Kinders het netnou
gebel en gese die krag is weer af by die huis.
Het ek genoem dat die bare van Eskom hulself iets in die lyn van 'n
miljoen rand "performance bonusses" per jaar betaal?
Vandag in Beeld is daar 'n berig dat Eskom vorentoe nog van sy
kundigheid gaan verloor. Hulle menselike hulpbronne- afdeling het 'n
stelsel in werking geplaas wat gaan veroorsaak dat werkers die
volgende drie jaar of so nie verhogings gaan kry nie.
Het ook pas 'n 2,7 kilowat krag-opwekker gekoop. Sal dit by die huis
gebruik om basiese dinge aan die gang te hou wanneer die
onaangekondigde krag-onderbrekings gebeur.
