It's been 38 years since I left Johannesburg for Canada. Afrikaans
was not my primary language yet the language still echoes in my
subconscious and I occasionally rack my mind trying to remember
various Afrikaans words. Yesterday, during a discussion, I could not
remember the Afrikaans word for "window". At 3 am this morning I
suddenly woke up and said "The word is 'venster'??. Please correct
me if I am wrong. Thank-you.
