Marius Swanepoel, former police agent implicated in two massive arms heists
in Bloemfontein in 1998, has been arrested after failing to appear in court.
Swanepoel and three other whites with Army backgrounds removed big
quantities of arms and ammunition in two daring raids from Tempe military
base and a truck carrying ammunition on a road, caching everything on a plot
outside the city for as yet unknown purposes. The two coloured Army drivers
of the ammunition truck were killed during the raid. Swanepoel is suspected
of still working for the police, allegedly 'telling all' to the police not
long afterwards
