Hello!
I was in RSA earlier this year and am looking at the possibility of maybe
going back for a year or two. I was told while I was there that it would
be a good idea to learn Afrikaans, though. So I've been trying to find a
correspondence course of some sort in Afrikaans, but no such luck. It's
either 5 lessons, or expen$ive learn-at-home software.
Would anyone have any information on Afrikaans lessons by correspondence?
I already looked at UNISA and their Afrikaans courses are not for
beginners, just for people already fluent in Afrikaans.
Anyway, if anyone can tell me anything, it would be much appreciated!
Dankie dat u!
(that's about the extent of my Afrikaans!)

Actually I don't have any relatives in South Africa. I have friends
there, but no family.
I simply went to South Africa to visit a pen-pal I've written to for many
a year. It didn't take me long to find out that the time spent in South
Africa never seems to be enough somehow. Which is why I'm trying to see
if I can go back again for a spell...
On the other hand; if this Melky de Daiser person is PLENTY RICH - I might
be related (just kidding).
