100 Years Ago:
On December 1, 1899, the Globe reported that the situation in
South Africa was brighter than at any time since the Boer War
began earlier in the year, with Ladysmith and Mafeking considered
safe. All was well with the Canadian contingent, recently arrived
and reported in Cape Town. And in Leicester, British statesman
Joseph Chamberlain (father of Neville) called for an understanding
between Germany and Great Britain - a natural alliance that would
go far in preserving world peace.

se bladsy, altyd "100 years ago"gepubliseer het.
Bittergroete.
