... but I thought I should just let you know that my book found publishers
in both South Africa and the United States (under the title "The Emergence
of Modern South Africa") , as did others by me. It was prescribed by
several universities, both in SA and abroad, including some Afrikaans-medium
universities. It was particularly well reviewed by Stellenbosch academics,
who did not regard it as at all conventional or anti-Afrikaner. Written in
1983, it is still prescribed in some universities. It is still in print in
the U.S., and perhaps in SA (the publisher there is David Philip).
I do not blame you for making this elementary mistake, because I understand
English is not your native tongue, and I appreciate the trouble you have
taken in corresponding with me in my own native tongue.
And now I will slink away again, yellow dog and arrant fool that I am, to
the wider world and leave it to you to yap and be king of the castle in your
own shrinking backyard.
David

My dear David, I did check up on your oeuvre. However, I was referring to
the forthcoming book that you came to advertise in this news group. (Hoping
to catch more Afrikaans medium institutions to prescribe it, perhaps?)

Do you think that your gracious reviewers are aware that you have been known
to make false claims about the content of a text?
That you are, therefore, a known liar?
