Hi all. Sorry to be speaking English, but I need a little help.
This may sound strange, but my Afrikaan friend has a nick name "Big Girl".
I think the Afrikaans is "Groot Dogter" but I am unsure of how to pronounce
it correctly.
Would someone be able to email me and tell me how to do pronounce, by
spelling it back to phoenetically?
Thanks!
Bret.

Dear Bret
Unfortunately I don't know the phonetic alphabet either, but let's try and
help you in another way. I am attaching a file with the name
grootdogter.wav, that is what the pronunciation should sound like.
You are absolutely right, Big Girl is translated into Groot Dogter
(Afrikaans)
Should you require some more help w.r.t. translations from English to
Afrikaans, please visit my Homepage, I do have a section 'Teach yourself
Afrikaans with Ettienne's Tutor' under the Informational section of my site.
Maybe this will help.
The URL is:
I hope that this will help you, please shout if I could be of more
assistance.
Sincerely
Ettienne Brunsdon
