Hi there
Can someone please translate the below into english for me and
possibly compose a fitting and witty reply in afrikaans - with the
english translation for my use. The guy in my closed NG thinks he is
being funny and I want to show him ;-)
Please feel free to e.mail me at ia...@rayford-marketing.ltd.uk
Many Thanks in advance
Warmest in friendship
Iain

Sorry, was poking fun at you in a foreign language, known as
Africaans(then double a sounds like ahhh), which many a South African
speaks. If
anyone here speaks Dutch, you could most likely figure out what the
meaning
is. For those who can't, it will forever remain a mystery.
Lekker slaap my pampoen koppe...;-)

'Sleep well, my pumpkinheads.......'
I somehow doubt it if there is someone on this ng. able to compose a witty
reply. VERY SERIOUS discussions take place here, mostly by humour challenged
intellectuals (related to our germanic origins). You will however be
inundated with translations, as Afrikaners (sp) are known worldwide as a
VERY HOSPITABLE race.

We could help him out with the classic greetings you learn straight off the
ship:
Hoe gaan dit met u? =How are you doing?
Kak, dankie. =Very fine thank you.
