Taximan kry borgtog ná hy advokaat sleep

Johannesburg – Die taxibestuurder wat verlede Dinsdag 'n jong advokaat
van Johannesburg omgestamp en sowat 700 m ver gesleep het, is op
borgtog van R5 000 vrygelaat, het Gia Nicolaides, 'n joernalis van
Eyewitness News, uit die hof getweet.

Landdros Vincent Pienaar het Woensdag die saak tot 30 September
uitgestel omdat die hof wag vir 'n verklaring van Kim McCusker, maar
Matome Thamage (30) se regspan het aangevoer dat hulle 'n
hooggeregshofaansoek gaan bring indien uitspraak nie Woensdag is nie,
het Jinine Botha van Beeld uit die hof getweet.

Thamage staan tereg op aanklagte van poging tot moord en roekelose en
nalatige bestuur. Hy is sedert die voorval, waar McCusker sowat 700 m
ver gesleep is, verlede Dinsdag in aanhouding.

Oliver Moeti, Thamage se regsverteenwoordiger, het Woensdag aangevoer
dat dit nie Thamage se bedoeling was om McCusker te stamp nie en dat
sy aandag op Lourens Grobler (37), sy aanvaller, was.

Grobler het homself Maandagoggend by die Douglasdale-polisiekantoor in
Johannesburg oorgegee en is net ná 14:00 op borgtog van R5 000
vrygelaat.

Hy staan tereg op aanklagte van opsetlike saakbeskadiging en
aanranding met die opset om ernstig te beseer.

Moeti het gesê Thamage se adres is nagegaan en dat hy gereeld 'n
polisiekantoor sal besoek indien hy op borgtog vrygelaat word.
