Tonight, a history lesson van Die BoereVolk! Tant Minnie Pretorius,
wife of Dr. Lets Pretorius, speaks about the genocide of 24,000 women
and children by the hands of the British in Die Anglo-BoereWar. The
concentration camps and the horror inflicted upon them. Tant Minnie is
a descendant of TrekkBoeres who crossed the Vaal river in the land of
Die TransVaal!
Tant Minnie then speaks of her recently being accosted by a Bantu
security guard while on her way to trial.
Also, Judge Ronald calls in to speak with John about South Africa and
the Boervolk.

Hi
I listened this morning on RSG to an interview with Dr. Lets Pretorius. I
must say that his story about the Boereolk is very convincing.
I have only one question for Dr Pretorius and his followers:
Are you willing to accept that the Boerevolk
- never was a blanke volk only
- that they were / are of mixed decent!
- that there was / is native black people who associated / associates with
the Boerevolk, speak Afrikaans, have Afrikaans names and surnames, have
accepted the Christian faith?
and are you willing to accept them as members of the Boerevolk and share
your volkstaat with them?

>> wife of Dr. Lets Pretorius, speaks about the genocide of 24,000 women
>> and children by the hands of the British in Die Anglo-BoereWar.
I almost forgot.
Are Dr Pretorius and his followers willing to also honour the memory of the
black people (My information is about the same number as the white woman and
children) that died in the British concentration camps because of their
association with the so called Boere? Are you willing to accept their
decendents as Boere?
In the Pietersburg district live a clan of black people who regard
themselves members of the Boerevolk - at least in 1994 they still did. They
speak Afrikaans, sing the old ZAR anthem "Kent gij dat volk...", display the
Boere memorabilia (Kruger, De Wet, De La Rey) on their walls, etc. Are you
willing to accept them as members of the Boerevolk?
In Ovambo live the Van der Merwe families. They are black! They are the
descendents of two brothers, Oorlog and Slagveld van der Merwe who were
originally left behind in Angola by the Boere families whose surname,
culture and religion the had accepted, and only moved to the then
South-West-Africa after the Union of South Africa took over the
administration. Are you willing to accept them as members of the Boerevolk?

Now that's a weak one , if I ever have heard one.
The Boers are white settlers , distinct form the Afrikaans in their
heritage
We were the ones with the guts to move into undiscovered territory and
tame it , the Afrikaans were on the other hand , willing to stay under
British rule , unlike us.
Yes if you are a boer , you will speak Afrikaans , just like a American
speaks English but were are distinct in our heritage of being frontiers
men.
The Cape Afrikaners can not claim to be boers neither can the coloreds
or anybody ells for that matter , except maybe a few Texan's from the
US , but they will miss the target on account of the language.
If you claim we are of mixed race , so be it , but we are not , you are
just trying to confuse the issue. Maybe you are of mixed race and want
to ad yourself to our group.
Sorry that will not suffice, maybe you just hate us , sorry we do not
care.
I know that the absolute best efforts have been made to try to
emasculate us , sorry we are still here and will be here for a long
time to come .
So , try to deny us the sun , we will not be bothered , we will
survive.

Is die Tannie net so betjoiks soos haar man en seuns?

Mooi!
My oupa aan
vaderskant was in De La Rey se kommando! En in 1914 was hy 'n rebel!
So lank as wat julle met julle rassime voortgaan so lank word blankes as
rassiste gestereotipeer. So lank as wat daar sommige boere is wat na
swartes as "k.ff.s" verwys, so lank gaan boere as onderdrukkers beskou word

Piet Potgieter is
Ek ken dit duidelik beter as jy.

So

in n nut shell ;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa
Post-colonial Africa
Today, Africa is home to over 50 independent countries, which mostly
still have the borders drawn during the era of European colonialism.
Since colonialism, African states have frequently been hampered by
instability, corruption, violence, and authoritarianism. The vast
majority of African nations are republics that operate under some form
of the presidential system of rule. Few nations in Africa have been
able to sustain democratic governments, and many have instead cycled
through a series of brutal coups and military dictatorships. A number
of Africa's post-colonial political leaders were military generals who
were poorly educated and ignorant on matters of governance. Great
instability, however, was mainly the result of marginalization of other
ethnic groups and graft under these leaders. Many politicians used the
positions of power to ignite ethnic conflicts that had been
exacerbated, or even created, by colonial rule. In many countries, the
military was perceived as being the only group that could effectively
maintain order, and it ruled many nations in Africa during the 1970s
and early 1980s. During the period from the early 1960s to the late
1980s, Africa had more than 70 coups and 13 presidential
assassinations.
Cold War conflicts between the United States and the Soviet Union, as
well as the policies of the International Monetary Fund, also played a
role in instability. When a country became independent for the first
time, it was often expected to align with one of the two superpowers.
Many countries in Northern Africa received Soviet military aid, while
many in Central and Southern Africa were supported by the United
States, France or both. The 1970s saw an escalation, as newly
independent Angola and Mozambique aligned themselves with the Soviet
Union and the West and South Africa sought to contain Soviet influence.
Border and territorial disputes have also been common, with the
European-imposed borders of many nations being widely contested through
armed conflicts.
[edit]
Politics
Failed government policies and political corruption have resulted in
many widespread famines, and significant portions of Africa remain with
distribution systems unable to disseminate enough food or water for the
population to survive. What had before colonialism been the source for
90% of the world's gold had become the poorest continent on earth, its
former riches enjoyed by those on other continents. The spread of
disease is also rampant, especially the spread of the human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the associated acquired immune
deficiency syndrome (AIDS), which has become a deadly epidemic on the
continent. Despite numerous hardships, there have been some signs the
continent has hope for the future. Democratic governments seem to be
spreading, though they are not yet the majority (The National
Geographic Society claims 13 African nations can be considered truly
democratic[citation needed]). As well, many nations have recognized
basic human rights for all citizens (though in practice these are not
always recognized) and have created reasonably independent judiciaries.
There are clear signs of increased networking among African
organisations and states. In the civil war in the Democratic Republic
of the Congo (former Zaire), rather than rich, non-African countries
intervening, about half a dozen neighbouring African countries became
involved (see also Second Congo War). Since the conflict began in 1998,
the estimated death toll has reached 3.5 million.[citation needed] This
might play a role similar to that of World War II for Europe, after
which the people in the neighbouring countries decided to integrate
their societies in such a way that war between them becomes as
unthinkable as a war between, say, France and Germany would be today.
Political associations such as the African Union are also offering hope
for greater co-operation and peace between the continent's many
countries. Extensive human rights abuses still occur in several parts
of Africa, often under the oversight of the state. Most of such
violations occur for political reasons, often as a side effect of civil
war. Countries where major human rights violations have been reported
in recent times include the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra
Leone, Liberia, Sudan, and Côte d'Ivoire.

Economy
Main article: Economy of Africa
Africa is the world's poorest inhabited continent: the United Nations'
Human Development Report 2003 (of 175 countries) found that positions
151 (Gambia) to 175 (Sierra Leone) were taken up entirely by African
nations.
It has had (and in some ways is still having) a shaky and uncertain
transition from colonialism, with increases in corruption and despotism
being major contributing factors to its poor economic situation. While
rapid growth in China and now India, and moderate growth in Latin
America, has lifted millions beyond subsistence living, Africa has gone
backwards in terms of foreign trade, investment, and per capita income.
This poverty has widespread effects, including lower life expectancy,
violence, and instability -- factors intertwined with the continent's
poverty.
Major economic successes are Botswana and South Africa, which is
developed to the extent that it has its own mature stock exchange. This
is partly due to its wealth of natural resources, being the world's
leading producer of both gold and diamonds, and partly due to its
well-established legal system. South Africa also has access to
financial capital, numerous markets and skilled labor. Other African
countries are making comparable progress, such as Ghana, and some, like
Egypt, have a longer history of commercial and economic success.
Nigeria sits on one of the largest proven oil reserves in the world and
has the highest population among nations in Africa, with one of the
fastest-growing economies in the world.
> From 1995 to 2005, economic growth picked up, averaging 5% in 2005.
However some countries experienced much higher growth (10+%) in
particular, Angola, Sudan and Equatorial Guinea, all three of which
have recently begun extracting their petroleum reserves

violations occur for political reasons, often as a side effect of civil

Kom nou, Kolevraat, jy't gesê ek ken bitter min van my land se geskiedenis.
Hoekom bly jy nou stil?
In Kirstenbosch is 'n
styfgeloop teen 'n Hottentot kaptein se vernuftige oorlogstaktiek.
Waar
Trek was?
nie 'n greintjie waarheid in nie!!!
weerspreek, Vuurtong!
Groete,

The concentration camps
Boer women and children in a concentration campThese had originally
been set up for refugees whose farms had been destroyed by the British
"Scorched Earth" policy (burning down all Boer homesteads and farms).
However, following Kitchener's new policy, many women and children were
forcibly moved to prevent the Boers from resupplying at their homes and
more camps were built and converted to prisons. This relatively new
idea was essentially humane in its planning in London but ultimately
proved brutal due to its lack of proper implementation. This was not
the first appearance of concentration camps. The Spanish used them in
the Ten Years' War that later led to the Spanish-American War, and the
United States used them to devastate guerrilla forces during the
Philippine-American War. But the concentration camp system of the
British was on a much larger scale.
There were a total of 45 tented camps built for Boer internees and 64
for black African ones. Of the 28,000 Boer men captured as prisoners of
war, 25,630 were sent overseas. So, most Boers remaining in the local
camps were women and children, but the native African ones held large
numbers of men as well. Even when forcibly removed from Boer areas, the
black Africans were not considered to be hostile to the British, and
provided a paid labour force.
The conditions in the camps were very unhealthy and the food rations
were meagre. Women and children of menfolk who were still fighting were
given smaller rations than others. The poor diet and inadequate hygiene
led to endemic contagious diseases such as measles, typhoid and
dysentery. Coupled with a shortage of medical facilities, this led to
large numbers of deaths - a report after the war concluded that
27,927 Boers (of whom 22,074 were children under 16) and 14,154 black
Africans had died of starvation, disease and exposure in the
concentration camps. In all, about 25% of the Boer inmates and 12% of
the black African ones died (although recent research suggests that the
black African deaths were underestimated and may have actually been
around 20,000).
A delegate of the South African Women and Children's Distress Fund,
Emily Hobhouse, did much to publicise the distress of the inmates on
her return to Britain after visiting some of the camps in the Orange
Free State. Her fifteen-page report caused uproar, and led to a
government commission, the Fawcett Commission, visiting camps from
August to December 1901 which confirmed her report. They were highly
critical of the running of the camps and made numerous recommendations,
for example improvements in diet and provision of proper medical
facilities. By February 1902 the annual death-rate dropped to 6.9 % and
eventually to 2 %.
Counterinsurgency techniques which were applied by the British in the
Boer War were later reused by the British to fend off Malayan communist
rebels during the Malayan Emergency.

Wêreld, ek het dit nie besef nie. Was daar
werklik so baie swartmense in die konsentrasie-

Inderdaad.
Die swartes was

Was daar
werklik so baie swartmense in die konsentrasie-
kampe.

skryf as witmense.
Lyk my jy sal jou toelatingsvereistes vir die boer-groep ietwat moet
aanpas as jy ook deel daarvan wil wees.
Net so by the way, jou verkeerde gebruik klink baie Engels.
Ek sou raai jy is eintlik Engels...

Dis ongelukig so dat my tik afrikaans daaronder ly , maar ek is

Ag, spaar my dié gesanik.
Julle is plein
agterlik.
