I was wondering how to pronounce the -ie at the end of words such as
'bietjie' or 'dankie.' Is this similar to the Dutch -tje as in 'beetje'
or is it like the -ie- in 'vier'? I would also like to know when the
letter 'g' is a 'hard g' like in English. I know that it is 'hard' when
combined with the letter 'h' as in 'gholf', but are there other times
when it is 'hard' and can you give examples? One last thing is on the
ronunciation of the letter 's'. When is it pronounced like the Enlglish
'z' and when is it pronounced like the English 's' and is the double s -
"ss" pronounced like the 'sj' in the Dutch "alsjeblieft"? Thanks.
