TELKOM EXPOSED?? Nee wat, dit is mos nou al ou nuus. Nadat ek in die vroeë
1980s in die VSA gebly het waar 'n nuwe telefoondiens slegs 24 uur geneem
het om te kry, was dit vir my 'n helse frustrasie om weer met Telkom te deal
in SA. Op die ou end het ek ingegee tot die besef dat die enigste manier om
iets uit hulle te kry was met die bottel brandewyn metode. Nadat ek maande
en maande gewag het vir my telefoon, "praat" 'n ou wat vir my werk met sy
broer wat by Telom "werk" en siedaar, die volgende dag het ek my foon. Ek
weet dis korrup, maar daar was skynbaar geen ander uitweg nie.

Ek is nou weer terug in die VSA. Ek het 1.5Mbps kabel internet by die huis
wat my so $35 per maand kos - ek dink. Met 400 long distance providers in
die mark, kan ek SA toe bel vir 10c per minuut wat nie my sak ruk nie.
Local calls is natuurlik verniet. Ons het 'n selfoon pakket (2 selfone) met
free long distance, free roaming, unlimited to other subscibers vir $69.
Elke keer as ek dink daaraan om terug te keer na SA, dan is dit die besef
dat ek weer met Telkom sal moet deal wat daai gedagte in die kiem smoor:)
EK het absoluut geen respek vir Telkom nie - in my ondervinding is dit die
organisasie met die swakste diens in die wêreld.
