Verdiep jouself in
die geskiedenis van mens en volke. Helaas ....
My antwoord is nee.

jammer daarvoor)

Subject: So Goes Zimbabwe, Soon SA Will Follow

HARARE, Zimbabwe, Feb. 5 — Vincent Dube moved to Harare nine years ago from
the impoverished province of Mashonaland and like millions of others here he
's been waiting ever since for the government to live up to its promise to
give him a piece of land to work. So the 29-year-old is not quite sure why
Zimbabwe is bothering to hold a referendum on next month to authorize the
seizure of white-owned farms dating from the colonial era.
PRESIDENT ROBERT Mugabe, 75, announced over a year ago he intended
to break up the huge white-owned farms and redistribute the land to
impoverished blacks. On Feb. 12, this nation of 12 million people will vote,
putting a veneer of democracy on Mugabe's controversial plans. At the same
time, Zimbabwe's voters will be passing judgement on a proposed new
constitution, one that gives Mugabe wide-ranging new powers.
For Zimbabwe's blacks, however, the whole exercise seems absurd.
About 4,000 whites own one-third of the best land in Zimbabwe. Whites as a
whole — about 100,000 in all — make up less than one percent of the country'
s population.
“Why on earth is he asking if we want our land back?” asked Dube.

LAND AND DEMANDS
Mugabe, who has been in power since Rhodesia became Zimbabwe on April
18, 1980, also has demanded that Britain, the former colonial power “has an
obligation to pay compensation for agricultural land compulsorily acquired
through a fund established for that purpose.” In effect, Mugabe wants
Britain to fund the land reform by paying whites for the farms his
government seizes.
So far, Britain has refused. Mugabe, hoping to show he means
business, responded by promising that if London did not pay up, no one
would. (end item)

So sad--Rhodesia, once one of jewels of Africa, a literal
"breadbasket"...Everything that the "racist whites" said would happen,
did--the Blacks have destroyed the country, and now, the last productive
areas will be trashed. Oh well. South Africa is next--they have about 15
more years before they reach this stage (seizure of all white property and
assets). Then, when those assets are squandered to the corrupt leaders, it
will revert back to the jungle and anarchy. History has a way of repeating
itself, huh?
